This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

2. Legal Basis for Processing

We process your personal data on the following lawful bases under the NDPA 2023:

Consent — where you voluntarily submit your information through our contact or application forms.
Legitimate interests — to respond to your enquiry, manage our programmes, and improve our services, where this does not override your rights.
Legal obligation — where we are required by Nigerian law to process or retain certain records.

We only collect personal data you voluntarily provide through our contact, volunteer, or Football Talent Hub forms:

We do not collect sensitive personal data (such as health, financial, or biometric data) and we do not engage in automated decision-making or profiling.

4. Cookies & Local Storage

We use a single piece of essential local storage to remember whether you have acknowledged our cookie notice, so it does not appear on every visit. This contains no personal data and is never shared with third parties. We do not use advertising cookies, tracking pixels, or third-party analytics tools.

5. How We Use Your Data

Your personal data is used only for the specific purpose for which it was collected, in line with the NDPA 2023 principle of purpose limitation:

To respond to your enquiry or application
To register participants in TSL programmes, tournaments, or events
To send programme updates if you have opted in
To meet any reporting or compliance obligations under Nigerian law

We do not sell, rent, or transfer your data to third parties for commercial purposes. We share data with Formspree (our secure form processor) solely to deliver your message to us, in accordance with their own privacy commitments.

6. Children's Data

Some of our programmes involve children and young people. Where we collect personal data relating to minors (persons under 18), we obtain verifiable parental or guardian consent before processing, in line with Section 34 of the NDPA 2023. We take all reasonable steps to safeguard children's data and limit its use strictly to programme delivery and safeguarding purposes.

7. How Long We Keep Your Data

We retain personal data only for as long as is necessary for the purpose it was collected, or as required by Nigerian law:

Contact form enquiries — up to 12 months
Programme participant records — up to 3 years after the relevant programme ends, in line with our safeguarding obligations
Financial or legal records — as required by the Companies and Allied Matters Act (CAMA) and applicable Nigerian tax law

After the applicable retention period, data is securely deleted or anonymised.

8. Your Rights Under Nigerian Law

Under the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023, you have the following rights in relation to your personal data:

Right to be informed — to know how your data is being used (this policy fulfils that obligation)
Right of access — to request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
Right to rectification — to request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data
Right to erasure — to request deletion of your data where there is no lawful basis for continued processing

9. Data Breach Notification

In the event of a personal data breach that is likely to result in a risk to your rights and freedoms, we will notify the Nigeria Data Protection Commission (NDPC) within 72 hours of becoming aware, and will notify affected individuals without undue delay, as required by Section 40 of the NDPA 2023.

10. Transfers Outside Nigeria

Your data is primarily processed and stored within Nigeria. Where any processing involves transfer to a third-party service (such as Formspree) located outside Nigeria, we ensure that adequate safeguards are in place in accordance with Part VI of the NDPA 2023, including contractual protections that meet the standard required by the NDPC.

11. Security

Our website is served over HTTPS. All form submissions are processed by Formspree using encrypted connections. We apply appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data against unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction, in line with the NDPR 2019 security obligations.
